This was hugely important since the laptop contained emails and texts that linked Joe Biden to his family’s financially rewarding scheme of selling access to him to foreign financiers from around the globe.

Meta’s actions in censoring posts about the laptop were never based on “false information. ” Instead, they were part of a more significant effort to influence the 2020 election result and help Biden defeat incumbent President Donald Trump. Meta’s decision to restrict the spread of accurate details on an important political problem speaks volumes about the business’s desire to suppress speech when it aligns with its political interests.

Their efforts and votes were reevaluated if they had been notified about the laptop. This shift in viewpoint could have been considerable enough to sway essential states and the overall election result in favor of Trump. Later on, in January 2021, Meta made a controversial decision to ban Trump, pointing out public safety issues in the consequences of the Capitol riot. Meta validated the ban by specifying that the prospective risks of permitting Trump to use their platform were too dangerous. 

Nonsense.

It was simply politics—the baseless banishment of a former president of the United States—that not-so-accidentally aligned with the authoritarian bent of the inbound Biden administration.
