Trump: I’m Being Indicted for Defending You

On Saturday, ex-President Donald Trump revealed his view that being prosecuted by the “radical-left Democrats, Marxist communists, and fascists” is a source of pride for him, as he sees it as a representation of his commitment to his supporters.

That’s because in 2020, Democrats got “fortunate as hell” with President Joe Biden being put in office, and “they do not wish to go through that again,” Trump stated in his pre-caucus rally in Las Vegas, which aired live on Newsmax and simulcast on the Newsmax2 online streaming platform.

“They hope that’s going to be the brand-new kind of cheating, weaponizing,” he stated. “They want to weaponize the FBI, the DOJ [Department of Justice]. The radical-left Democrats rigged the presidential election in 2020. We’re not going to permit them to rig the presidential election of 2024.”

Trump’s remarks come one day after a jury in New York granted writer E. Jean Carroll an $83.3 million decision, adding to the $5 million she was awarded in October, in damages for supposedly damaging her reputation as a credible reporter after she accused him in 2019 of raping her nearly 30 years ago.

Trump did not point out Carroll by name Saturday, but mentioned that when he went to the Wharton School of Finance, “they didn’t teach indictment 101.”

Trump: ‘Great Badge of Honor’ to Be ‘Indicted for You’
“I got indicted four times,” Trump said. “Al Capone, the meanest of all, Scarface … he was indicted less than me.”

However, Trump assured the audience that he would “always protect their freedom from being taken away.”

“He asserted that his opponents seek to gag him in order to prevent him from defending the rights of others. He believes that their ultimate target is not him, but the people he represents. They aim to suppress his voice so that they can maintain control and silence the voices of those who dare to challenge their authority.”
