Voting Machines Fail Integrity Tests But Will Be Used Anyway.

Voting machines in Dallas, Texas, have failed integrity tests, according to regional Republicans. Despite failing the tests, the devices will still be utilized in next month’s upcoming presidential election, they specify. Lt. Col. Allen West, chair of the Dallas County Republican Party (DCRP), released a letter stating that the tests revealed the devices stopping working on several fronts, consisting of inventory errors and vote turning, of which just four devices were tested. West states that Attorney General workers also refused to enable a 3rd party to look at the voting machines or offer a forensic audit of equipment that failed the tests, and they refused to allow pictures of the makers to be taken.

Last year, the 2021 Halderman Report noted that voting machines had several vital vulnerabilities. Voting machine guidelines were altered later that year, but reports said it was unlikely that many of the voting machines used this year would be able to adhere to new requirements and be federally certified. Dominion voting machines were examined again this year after numerous disparities were detected in a primary vote in the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico. Some makers reversed count overalls or reported zero votes for specific candidates. Coding mistakes have been blamed for voting machine discrepancies in the past, including during a 2023 Pennsylvania ballot question that saw devices malfunction when arranging votes. Texas is not the only state stopping work to resolve major issues about voting machines. In Georgia, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has also refused to attend to major concerns, including those raised in the Halderman Report.
